Rules Clarifications
October 22, 2004

This email contains rules clarifications for two games: In Nomine, and Anarch. The first set or clarifications are HILARIOUS, the second set are interesting.

Enjoy!

Hi Everyone,

Tonight is our In Nomine game and tomorrow is our Anarch game.

IN NOMINE
-----------------
I have completed the In Nomine Character-Creation Quick Guide that walks players through the maddening character creation process and contains pages numbers making it easy to look up what you need. It is posted on the website under the In Nomine section and I will be bringing copies of it with me to the game tonight.

IN House Rules (with page numbers)
-----------------------------------------------------
Apparently we need to clarify some house rules for In Nomine regarding clergy and more specifically Nuns. I am clarifying the following rules:

1) Nuns CAN fire their submachine guns while riding their motorcycles (INpp317) but NOT while using the Wheely skill (INpp283).
2) Nuns CAN use their rosaries to start their motorcycles (INpp315) but NOT use their rosaries as a replacement for a broken drive chain (INpp317) in spite of the example given with the Archangel Toby (INpp318) because it clearly states that he uses a Corporeal Artifact to do it.
3) Nuns CAN carry one small pistol on EACH garter belt, not just one small pistol if wearing garter belts and fishnet stockings (INpp319).
4) Nuns CAN choose to use their rulers to do Ethereal damage only since this is the only way to explain how they can use their rulers to stun their opponents (INpp316).
5) Nuns CAN use the Rite of Whips and Chains as both the performer and the recipient once per day to regain lost Essence (INpp320). They way this is worded makes it unclear. This means that both the performer and the recipient can both use the Rite of Whips and Chains twice if they switch who is the performer and who is the recipient.
6) Nuns CAN use the Rite of Riding a Motorcycle Without a Seat when riding a bicycle.

I hope everyone understands why I posted these rules clarifications...

ANARCH
--------------
Everyone remember that we are tightening up the combat to insure things go smoothly and do not bog down.

We will be using several house rules that I will go over again:

1) Storytellers will ask each player in turn what their action is going to be and that player has 3 seconds to respond with their action or they lose their action and play moves to the next player.
2) Once a Storyteller has made a decision that decision is final and Players that continue to argue with the Storyteller will be given Itchy Traits. Repeat offenses will result in being asked to leave the game for the evening.
3) Players that interrupt scenes with out of character actions and converstations will be given Itchy Traits. Repeat offenses will result in being asked to leave the game for the evening.

If an issue or question is not life threatening to a character then it is not important enough to warrant interrupting the game.

As an example of the many many reasons that we have put these rules in place is the game Meridian, in Fort Worth, which was cancelled because of these very reasons. Too much OOC stuff, too many ST arguments, too many slow combats.

I hope to see everyone at the games on Friday and Saturday!

We are also looking for a location more central between Dallas and Fort Worth, like the Arlington HEB area.

Thanks
